Welcome to the Department of Student Assessment

The Department of Student Assessment is now part of the Office of Teaching and Learning.

The Department of Student Assessment at Chicago Public Schools is responsible for coordinating and implementing student assessment throughout the district. Our goals are to:

Develop district-wide pre-K – 12 assessment strategy
- Assist in development of assessment
- Advise on adoption of assessments
Manage federal, state, and district testing initiatives
Provide accurate and timely information regarding testing purposes, procedures, and results (national, state, district) to relevant school and district staff
